Im not going to lie, I did not enjoyed the plot of this book, the story was kinda boring and predictable and some characters were just lame, but I think we have to focus on something more than the main story while reading any book. On this one, we have mockery, irony, sarcasm, stupidity and intellect, after all, this is a classic for some reason. Cleary this is a book from the XIX century, it recreates the way people used to think (and some still do), where the only way for a woman to live "well" was through marriege, there were no such thing as dating, and your family behaviour can cost you a lot, and I love the way this author approuches this topics and embraces them, making some side comments through sarcasm and guffy characters. We have a "I'm not letting a men define me" main character, Elizabeth, who haves a strong spirit and knows what she deserves, she haves a lot of pride and acumen sometimes, and her father, Mr. Bennet, that just haves a sarcasm that I adore, and that he uses to criticise what he sees. These are my two favourite characters, the ones that are ahead of their time, at least for a majority of the book. We also have an imperfect main character Mr. Darcy, who is far from being flowless, just like any other human, and althought the final was expectable and a little lame (the "I chage for you, and because of you, you made me a better person" part) I liked this character for being authentic, and not letting others tell him how to be, he knew his worth and showd up (too much) accordingly, and I loved that, that Austen didn't made, neither him or her, perfect people. I think the other characters just show the society from then, the stuck-up Lady Catherine, who though she was better then everyone else, the selfish and spoilled Lydia, who made as she wished and got her way, Mr. Collins, who was really just a bootlicker and Miss Lucas, the one who made what she had to do to keep a good life. Jane was just the typical sweet and inocent girl that is used and deceived by people that don't deserve her kindness, and Mr. Bingley, was as naive as her, but also like her, a lover, a sweet person, and because of that and many other reasons they were perfect for each other. The sarcasm with what Austens treats the behaviours of some characters is hillarious, and the irony that she puts in some tradictions is delightefull, she knows that the "women should marry to live" is not how thing should be, but she also knew that there was nothing to do about it. That's why I'm giving this book 4 stars, cause it's worth reading, and if you are enjoying the story, thats awsome, but even then, don't forget to look for the other things, and pay attention to every single line.
